Daniel Coleman’s three-part subtitle provides a good indication of the argument of his book, and a good structure for a book review. In Bed with the Word argues that reading can yield benefits in the realms of both spirituality and cultural politics. Coleman’s book succeeds in giving clear and logical explanation about these benefits, and because of its undogmatic and meditative tone it invites and enables the reader to experience what Coleman is commending more generally [...]
